P1XL Games makes authentic chiptune music for their pixely indie games. P1XL's Sam Washburn uses Famitracker to compose, and our games use a low-level emulator to play back the NSF files as authentically as possible (and keep our game filesizes down). For our album, we used a real modified NES to play back the songs, and captured them with a 24-bit recorder.
